Modular synthesizers are composed of separate modules of different functions. The modules can be connected together by the user to create a patch. The outputs from the modules may include audio signals, analog control voltages, or digital signals for logic or timing conditions.
I design things that other people want to use.”— Dr. Robert Moog
By the 1990s, modular synthesizers had fallen out of favor compared to cheaper, smaller digital and software synthesizers. German engineer Dieter Doepfer believed modular synthesizers could still be useful for creating unique sounds, and created a new, smaller modular system, the Doepfer A-100.
The most extended standard for modular systems, Eurorack, allow to independent builders like Synamodec to develop “modules” or pieces for this universe.
Over the years, Synamodec has developed more than 30 different models of modules. Most of the models have been made on demand, allowing musicians to add to their systems custom modules or modules that simply do not exist on the market.
Synamodec eurorack approach
Synamodec actually builds two types of modules.
- Synamodec Blue Series: standard non-customizable modules.
- Synamodec Custom: customizable modules from some basic characteristics.
Since 2021 Synamodec has started production of the standardized Synamodec Blue series, not customizable, with the most demanded modules. We plan to grow this list in the next year.
All the modules in the Synamodec Blue series are our own designs, many times based on classic circuits or completely new ideas. As a distinctive sign, the panel is made of slightly translucent blue fiberglass. And with the gray pots, this modules achieve a modern-vintage effect that we like so much.
If you need a different module with a specific functionality or a different aesthetics, Synamodec Custom is your place.
From a huge list of basic models you have the option to add, remove, invent or modify any functionality. And, as always, at affordable prices.
The procedure is simple: choose a base model and write us with the modifications you need. Each of the base models has a starting price without modifications.
Synamodec is customization. If you need to adapt any module to any system, write to us. Almost anything is possible!
